10 Minutes with Tina Jaxling Today Improv

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? NO, FOR REAL ARE YOU? BECAUSE IT WAS SO MUCH FUN IMPROVISING “10 Minutes with Tina Jaxling!!!” Thanks to Angela Langley for the suggestion “One second.” Stick around after as we talk about a whole lot of fantastic things, including how Tina got into improv, what brought her to San Antonio, the wonderful community there she helped build, how to pronounce Bexar Stage, why she stepped away from improv during the pandemic, why transactions scenes are ok to play, why we all need to step back at times and take care of ourselves, why the people running your improv theater also still really want to play in shows and not just clean toilets, and so much more. You know, I just had a blast with Tina. We have circled each other’s orbit for years and this is the first chance we’ve had to play with each other and it didn’t disappoint. She is really amazing with characters and emotions and it shows so well here. She is such a strong, fearless player and I couldn’t wait to see what she was going to say next. Things could’ve easily gone done a negative path and they just didn’t, which made it so much more enjoyable to watch. This scene was so easy and so fun and I got to play two characters! Plus, the department store was Kohl’s, which is popular in the midwest US, and is also a homophone of “coals”, which makes the scene take on a different meaning completely!
