MAN–WHAT A JOY RIDE THIS WAS improvising “10 Minutes with Stacey Smith.” Thanks to Tanine M. Dunais for the suggestion “the sharper the better.” Stick around after as we talk about how Stacey got into improv, why we both kinda suck at improv auditions but usually nail the callback, why easy and fun is her mantra and what it’s like forming a bond with a cast. We also talk about how she started as a big character improvisor and then discovered the power in playing characters closer to herself. What can I say about Stacey Smith? She is just incredibly talented and one of my top people to play with ever. She gets it and is so much fun. She has short form training, which allows her to make fun decisions, and a longform mindset. She is the entire package. She is also one of the best improv musical perfomers in the world (check out Stacejam: A Solo Musical Improv Show) as well as one of the best improv teacher in the world. SHE IS JUST BRILLIANT!!!
